Remediation in GME is complex. Every case brings different circumstances, different decisions, and often questions that don't have simple answers.
Remediation Lab provides ongoing learning throughout the year, giving GME professionals regular opportunities to explore the issues that make remediation difficult, talk through real-world cases, and develop strategies they can take back to their programs.
Designed for the people involved in remediation across graduate medical education, Remediation Lab combines focused teaching with case-based discussion and the shared experience of GME professionals from different programs, specialties, and training environments.
24 LIVE REMEDIATION ROUNDTABLES EACH YEAR
Twice each month, members come together for a live, one-hour Remediation Roundtable.
Each Roundtable takes a deeper look at an issue that comes up in the real work of remediation. Some sessions begin with focused teaching. Others center around a difficult case, a common misconception, or a question that doesn't have an easy answer. The conversation is interactive and grounded in what programs are actually dealing with.

Members have the opportunity to bring difficult situations to the Roundtable, hear different perspectives, and learn how others are approaching similar challenges. Cases and questions can also be submitted confidentially for discussion.

The goal isn't simply to talk about remediation. It is to leave each Roundtable with something you can use.
Throughout the year, the conversation moves from understanding why remediation becomes difficult to figuring out what to do when it does. Members gain practical approaches they can adapt to the situations, decisions, and challenges they encounter in their own programs.

The learning doesn't stop when the Zoom session ends.
Program members also have access to the Remediation Lab online community, where conversations can continue between Roundtables. Members can ask questions, discuss cases, share resources, and connect with other GME professionals doing this work.
CONFIDENTIAL & FLEXIBLE PARTICIPATION
Remediation cases can involve sensitive circumstances, so participation is designed with that in mind. Members may use an optional username, participate without being on camera, and submit cases confidentially. When appropriate, a submitted case can be presented for discussion without requiring the member who submitted it to lead the conversation.
WHO IS REMEDIATION LAB FOR?
Remediation Lab is designed for the people involved in remediation across GME. Program Directors, Associate Program Directors, fellowship and residency faculty, coordinators, program managers and administrators, DIOs, and others involved in the remediation process can all participate.
Each program membership includes access for up to five GME professionals, allowing the people who approach remediation from different roles to learn together throughout the year.
