• Yes. Programs may pursue certification.

  Program-Level Remediation Certification demonstrates that your program has made a deliberate commitment to a fair, defensible, and effective approach to remediation.

  For current learners, that commitment means something. When concerns arise, they know the program has an established approach for remediation rather than creating a process in response to the individual situation.

  The designation also gives prospective candidates insight into your program's culture. It demonstrates that supporting learners through difficulty is something your program has thought about, prepared for, and committed to doing well.

You can finish the coursework in as little as 4 weeks. Plan on about 2 to 3 hours a week. Then you complete the Capstone, which we review before you're certified.

• Program-Level Remediation Certification is maintained through continued application of a structured remediation process.

  To recertify, programs complete a Remediation Case Review every two years, reinforcing a consistent and defensible approach using the ELEVATE Framework.

• The program combines structured learning with applied practice. Live group meetings are held each week and focus on discussion, application, and guided support. All live sessions are recorded for those who are unable to attend.

  Participants review targeted learning materials, complete applied tasks, and submit required deliverables throughout the program. Each participant receives personalized feedback to support competency development and successful application of the ELEVATE Framework.

• Yes. Programs and institutions enrolling multiple participants may access group or institutional pricing, including a reduced rate when five or more people from the same institution enroll. No, though it's worth joining when you can. Every live session is recorded, so you can catch up on any you miss. Joining live is your chance to bring a question or a case to work through with us.

• For program coordinators, education specialists, and faculty leaders, the C-RGME designation strengthens their ability to contribute to high-stakes remediation decisions while supporting program compliance and fairness.   Participants who earn the certification become a valuable resource within their program by helping ensure remediation processes are fair, defensible, and effective.

• If, within 7 days of enrolling, you determine that the Certification in Remediation in Graduate Medical Education (C-RGME) is not the right fit, you may request a refund. Refunds will be issued less any credit card or payment processing fees incurred by Doc Mac Learning.

  Participants who withdraw prior to receiving access to course materials are also eligible for a refund less any credit card or payment processing fees incurred by Doc Mac Learning.

  After 7 days from enrollment, refunds are not available due to the individualized feedback, applied work, and evaluation involved in the certification process.

No prior certification is required. The program meets participants where they are and builds practical, defensible remediation skills.

• Participants retain ongoing access to certification materials to support continued reference and application of the ELEVATE Framework after certification is completed.

• Participants use the Certification in Remediation in Graduate Medical Education (C-RGME) to demonstrate competence in leading resident remediation using a fair, defensible, and effective framework. Certification holders often take on expanded responsibility related to resident performance management, serve as a remediation resource for faculty or program leadership, and support consistency and risk reduction across remediation cases.

  Many participants pursue C-RGME to strengthen professional credibility, expand their scope of responsibility, or position themselves for leadership, advancement, or specialized roles within graduate medical education. 

• Yes. C-RGME certification is valid for two years. To maintain the designation, certification holders must complete renewal requirements designed to support continued competence in resident remediation practice.

  During each two-year certification cycle, C-RGME holders must:

  • Attend one renewal workshop focused on updates in remediation practices and documentation standards
  • Participate in two quarterly C-RGME calls that review real-world remediation scenarios and evolving program expectations

  Renewal workshops are held live and virtually, and recordings are available for participants who are unable to attend the live session. Certification holders will also complete brief renewal activities associated with the workshop and quarterly calls.

  The C-RGME renewal fee is $300 every two years. All required renewal education, including workshops and quarterly calls, is provided at no additional cost to certification holders.

  Renewal also includes listing in the official C-RGME certification directory, which recognizes individuals who maintain active certification and demonstrated expertise in resident remediation.

  These renewal requirements help ensure that C-RGME holders remain current in remediation practices and continue to apply the ELEVATE framework in a fair, defensible, and effective manner.

• Yes! Residency programs and institutions may purchase certification access for faculty, program coordinators, education specialists, or other staff involved in resident remediation and performance management.

  Institutional purchasing options include group enrollment, invoicing, and payment by check or purchase order.

  Discounted institutional enrollment rates are available for groups of 5 or more participants.
